How booking works
Your booking is decided by rules, not by who emails first.
LastLight's booking runs on MessyLens, a booking operations system built by MessyOrg. It is not artificial intelligence and it does not guess: it checks Maya's own written rules, and it records the reason for every decision it makes.
- 01
You tell us about the session
A handful of questions specific to the session you picked — who is coming, indoors or outdoors, whether you want the light just before sunset.
- 02
Only workable times are offered
Studio hours, session length, travel buffers, the Saturday limit, newborn morning rules and sunset time are all checked before a time is shown to you. Times that break a rule are never offered, even when the calendar looks empty.
- 03
Your deposit holds the time
The appointment is held while you pay, then confirmed, blocked out with travel time, and your preparation guide is sent.
- 04
Reminders and weather run themselves
Reminders are scheduled; outdoor sessions are watched. If weather looks doubtful, Maya is asked to make the call — the system never cancels your session on its own.
- 05
You can move it yourself
Your booking link lets you move or cancel inside the policy window. Every rule is checked again, so you only see times that genuinely work.
Four kinds of decision
What runs itself, and what waits for Maya
Safe to run itself
Qualifying, offering availability, deposits, confirmations, guides, reminders.
Worth watching
Outdoor weather, held appointments waiting on a deposit.
Worth rescuing
An inquiry that went quiet — two gentle follow-ups, stopped instantly once you book.
Needs a person
Weather calls, unusual requests, locations outside the travel radius, failed payments.
Nothing about your session is decided by a machine that cannot explain itself. Maya can open any booking and read, in plain words, which rules were checked and why the outcome was what it was.
